It has been a very long time since I have written a blog. I have been spending so much time on Facebook that I haven't taken the time to really write.
My husband and I have been pastoring a Latino church since July. I am amazed at what we have learned about love and relationships from these precious people. We have learned to love them and have been seeing the Love of Christ in them.
We are having the time of our lives and this job of pastoring is not like a job at all. It is more like a continual feast. We are helping so many people and are getting blessed in return. Our church is an outreach of a local anglo church and we are using their building. However, it is more that just an outreach. The folks of the "mother" church have been giving clothes, furniture, food, money etc to the folks in our little church and the blessings just keep pouring in. As a result of this many young and some older folks are seeing the love of God and are giving themselves to the Lord. We are seeing lives change. Those who were depressed and fearful are now filled with joy and confidence. They are reaching out to others and in return they are receiving the blessing of giving. This is mushrooming and the joy and fellowship is greater than we have ever seen before. This is how the church should be. Sharing our substance, visiting each other in homes, laughing ,praying ,crying together. Is this how the early church in Acts functioned? I pray that we will see more of this in this city. Church is not about just coming to a meeting once or twice a week, but it is continual fellowship...every day....blessing one another...enjoying one another. This is the life I would love to see everyone enjoy. We are so busy these days meeting our own needs. It is wonderful to experience the joy of taking the time to see those around us and give of ourselves. The reward is greater than anything I have ever experienced. What joy, what peace, what love, what satisfaction.
